Hi Everybody,
Well, our first 15 minute tape of concerns for the creek, specifically the blue spew and paint-smelling run-off, has been given to the mayor's office along with the letter. He requested the tape after I showed him a clip of the "blue spew". One of our jobs is to inform the government
agencies and officials of our discoveries. Both state and local officialshave thanked us for our assistance in tracking down sources of pollution. They said their hands are often full with responses to calls and reports, and they usually don't have time to trace the creek and its tributaries on a frequent basis, as we have been doing.
I'm headed to the WAY steering committee workshop from 1-5 p.m. today, and 9-4 p.m., tomorrow, at the Izaak Walton League in Dallastown. This will give me an overview of what is getting done, and allow me some input into the sharing of future projects with other groups.
-Creek Stroll and Clean-up on Sunday at 12:30, at the Lafayette Parking Lot on the corner of West Phillie and Pershing.
-Next meeting Thursday at the Martin Library from 7-9 p.m.
See you down by the Codorus,
Michael
