The Field Coordinator and Trainer for the Waterkeeper Alliance will be in York on March 28th, to discuss forming a Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper organization. Rick Dove, former Neuse Riverkeeper and U.S. Marines' judge, will describe how he, and others, brought attention to their disrespected river, and worked to clean it up. Murray Fisher will explain how all these smaller organizations work together for the benefit of all waterbodies and communities affected by them. All interested people are invited to this meeting of the Codorus Creek Improvement Partnership at York College to discuss the creation of a full-time custodian position and support group for the Codorus Creek, and the Susquehanna River watersheds. The purpose of this group is to: get to know our waterways; examine suspicious dumping, or reports of dumping, of waste and debris; interact with national and local waterway organizations to improve the condition of our waterways; educate ourselves and others; and generally promote the revitalization of our waterways and communities.

Please come out to hear these speakers, and share your views at the York College Student Union building on Thursday, March 28th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The first hour will be guest speakers; the second, group business.
