MONDAY, January 6, 7 p.m. at CCIP's Office, 11 W Phila St, York
Happy New Year Creek Folks,
Welcome to you new folks on the e-mail list. You're just in time to hear about the largest monetary donation to CCIP yet! Here's the text of the letter we just received from the PA Attorney General's Office.
Dear Mr Helfrich:
On November 14, 2002, RecOil, Inc. was successfully prosecuted by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General for violations of the Pennsylvania Solid Waste Management Act and Crimes Code. As part of the plea agreement, RecOil was required to make financial contributions to environmental organizations in York County as selected by this office.
Based on your organization's dedication to the environment, I am pleased to inform you that Attorney General Mike Fisher has selected the Codorus Creek Improvement Partnership as one of the recipients of these funds. Accordingly, I have enclosed a check in the amount of $5,009.92 to be utilized by your organization for the purpose of environmental conservation.
It is our sincere hope that this money will help protect the environment for all Pennsylvanians.
Sincerely, Glenn A. Parno
Chief Deputy Attorney General
Woohoo! When you see Joe Roth, thank him for suggesting us to the AG's office and supporting CCIP in our efforts. This will really take some pressure off as we start the new year's work and planning for the June Clean-Up, CodorusFest 2003, and our new educational programs. I'd like to thank everyone again for the fund-raising effort that kept us going. CCIP
members and supporters donated $360, which was the perfect amount to keep things rolling into the new year. Over the winter there are many opportunities for research and writing. If you would like to work on grant proposals, sponsorship requests, or research, let us know.
See you along the Codorus,
michael
