CELEBRATION ESSAY CONTEST 2006
The Codorus Creek Improvement Partnership has released the questions for the fourth annual CodorusFest Scholarship. Prizes given in four categories are: Grades K-3 $25; Grades 4-6 $50; Grades 7-12 $100.
The question for Grades K-3 is: “Why is protecting the places where animals and bugs live in or by the creek important?”
The question for Grades 4-6 is: “How can plants reduce pollution in the Codorus Creek and the surrounding wetlands?”
The question for Grades 7-12 is: “What are some of the laws that protect our local waterways from pollution? Explain how each law may be enforced.”
All of these essays can be as short or long as the writer wishes. Essays will be judged on content alone. All essays are due by May 1st. Prizes will be announced at the York Street Fair, May 8th at 5PM on the stage at the Codorus Creek Boat Basin.
